1936 Marx Army Medical Corps Ambulance Truck
Awesome Marx pressed steel Army Medical Corps Ambulance truck. I've never seen it before in person! Prior to this find, I knew only of its existence as a photograph in the Greenberg's Guide to Marx Toys, Vol. II (pg. 76). Incredibly enough it's actually unplayed 70+ year old unsold store stock and still has its original $1.00 price tag tied to the window! The truck is an unusually long toy measuring exactly a foot long. The color is uniformly olive green and is stamped "Medical Corps" on both sides. It has its original fold-down rear tailgate door and a type of grille assembly which is rarely seen. It's all one piece with separate hood divider. This type of grill is notorious for having missing headlights which easily break off. The wheels are black painted wood. Size: 12" Date Sold: Aug. 2009
